Dave and Brandy Nickerson

1. Tell us a little about yourself?

Dave-  I’m 32 years old and have been married for 6 years to Brandy. We are blessed with two girls, Harper will be 3 in May and Savannah is 18 months. I served 9 years in the Army National Guard. Brandy is mostly a stay at home mom; teaching dance in Halifax one night a week, and working per diem at South Shore Hospital’s outpatient surgical center at 2 Pond Park.  She is also currently taking classes, perusing her love for photography.

We love to do anything outside with our girls, ride motorcycles and go camping.

2. Tell us your CrossFit story (where were you before RCFBC and where are you now?)

Brandy- So, before Bare Cove I was pregnant for what seems like forever!  Dave was at another local box.  After I had our second little girl, I wanted to get into some sort of activity to try to claim my body back.  Although he liked the box that he was at, Dave wanted to find a place that was more family oriented; and be at a place where we could relate to others.  Since I was new to the CrossFit scene, he also was looking for a place that I’d to learn the correct way to do things and not feel intimidated.  RCFBC has been perfect for that.

3. What does being part of RCFBC community mean to you?

Dave- So, we are in Florida and we have had the opportunity to drop in at a box while on vacation.  The coach was great, but you could tell the people were missing something. No one talked, cheered or high fived as they completed the WOD. There was no where to write PR’s, post up coming “70” party’s or the next challenge. There was no going over the correct way to do a thruster (or anything else). It made you really appreciate the community we have at RCFBC thank you for making us feel apart of something.

5. What are your challenges and goals going forward?

I think our biggest challenge is staying on track.  Life gets busy, but we’re doing our best to make time to get there. If it wasn’t for the coaches at RCFBC we might not have stuck with it. Their dedication on staying on top off us after a lengthy break got us back on track. Thanks Kaylee and Mike!

Brandy- I guess my biggest goal is to get to a point where I’m happy with my body and maintain a healthy lifestyle.   I’d also like to be wicked strong and be able to do pull-ups!

6. If you could describe RCFBC in one word what would you say?
